SABIC® BOPE Polymer For Frozen Food Packaging

SABIC® TF-BOPE polymer, engineered specifically to be used on a conventional BOPP tenter frame production line, supports easy and full recyclability of the flexible packaging through mono-material structure made from PE without compromising the packaging integrity. This new solution aimed to overcome the limitations of conventional PE film; offering higher throughput and down gauging compared to blown PE film process.

SABIC® BOPE POLYMER FOR FROZEN FOOD PACKAGING 

SABIC® TF-BOPE polymer produced on a conventional (BOPP) tenter frame production line creates a thin bidirectional stretched polyethylene film with strong performance. 

BOPE COMPARED TO BLOWN PE FILM 

Comparing a 40μm blown PE film with a 20μm BOPE film offers both potential technical and economic advantages: 

• Down gauging by 50% and cost saving potential over 30%. • 
• BOPE shows higher puncture resistance and stiffness vs equal thickness blown PE. 
• BOPE offers higher stress crack resistance.
• BOPE bag can be opened/peeled easily and via a controlled linear tear direction and low tear propagation strength providing enhanced customer convenience.
