DuPont: First Phase of “Hytrel” Consolidation Complete
DuPont (Wilmington, Delaware / USA; www.dupont.com) has completed the first phase of the consolidation of its “Hytrel” thermoplastic polyester elastomer production in Europe with the inauguration of a new compounding unit in Luxembourg. The new line is part of a USD 9m investment by the company to integrate the production chain for the product at the Luxembourg site – from polymerisation to compounding and delivery of the finished product to customers. Compounding was previously carried out in Mechelen / Belgium and required 300 truck journeys annually between the Luxembourg facility and the Belgian site. /Plastics Information Europe/
