SABIC Chemical Plant To Operate On Renewable Power

Planned to be fully operational in 2024, the 100MW PV solar plant will help SABIC reach its 2025 clean energy targets. SABIC’s polycarbonate facility in Cartagena, Spain, is set to become the world’s first large-scale chemical production site to be run entirely on renewable power, following the signing of a major agreement. The deal will see Iberdrola, one of the world’s biggest electricity utility companies, invest almost €70m to construct a 100MW solar PV facility with 263,000 panels, on land owned by SABIC, making it the largest industrial renewable power plant in Europe.

Nordson Will Not Actively Participate In Fakuma 2020

Because of continuing risks posed by the coronavirus pandemic, Nordson Corporation has regretfully decided that it will not actively participate in the Fakuma 2020 trade show, the company announced today. While Nordson’s Polymer Processing Systems (PPS) group will retain its exhibit space at the show, it will not send the team that it had planned on, nor exhibit equipment. The company had intended to display its BKG® pelletizers and melt delivery systems, EDI® polymer extrusion dies, and Xaloy® screws and barrels.

Biesterfeld Plastic and SK Chemicals are extending their long-term strategic partnership. With effect from 1 August 2020, a new distribution agreement is in force between the partners, which now also includes the distribution of copolyesters from SK Chemicals within the cosmetic packaging market segment. This new agreement means that Biesterfeld now holds the distributions rights for all segments of SK Chemicals’ copolyester business in Europe, Brazil and North Africa.
